The “50TH ANNUAL CMA AWARDS” will take place WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd at BRIDGESTONE ARENA in NASHVILLE. The event will be broadcast live beginning at 8p (ET) on ABC-TV.

World-renowned singer/songwriter/entertainer Dolly Parton has a worldwide #1 album to celebrate this week. The superstar’s new release Pure & Simple debuts at #1 not only in the U.S., but, also on the national country charts in Canada, U.K. and Australia.

Dolly’s 43rd studio recording and the first release of her recently-announced joint venture between Dolly Records and Sony Music Nashville, achieves #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with first-week sales of 20,000 units! This marks the first time Dolly has topped Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart in the 25-year history of SoundScan.

The new album which released August 19th on Dolly Records/RCA Nashville lands the #11 slot on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart with a first-week total consumption of 21,000. On Billboard’s Americana/Folk Albums chart, the disc debuts at #1. In the UK, Pure & Simple enters the all-genre album sales chart at #2, behind Frank Ocean’s Blonde.

Upon hearing the news, Dolly Parton, who co-produced and wrote every song on Pure & Simple, enthused, “Boy, it’s a good day for me. I am a happy girl!” She continued, “It feels great to be #1 as it’s been a long time and it feels so good to still be in the game after all this time.”

Remarked Doug Morris, CEO, Sony Music Entertainment, “Congratulations, Dolly, for your stunning debut with Pure & Simple. You put your heart and soul in this album, and we join you in celebrating a long-overdue #1 on the country album chart.”

“I thought it was a magical time back in 1981, when I first started working with Dolly as we set up her Best Little Whorehouse album on RCA, right after her huge hit, ‘9 To 5,’” reflected Randy Goodman, Chairman & CEO, Sony Music Nashville. “I spent a week with her on the RCA jet visiting radio and retail all over the country.” Goodman continued, “But, to be reunited with Dolly and have a #1 debut is wonderful. Thank you, Doug Morris for bringing Dolly back to RCA.”

CTK Management CEO Danny Nozell said, “There is nobody more deserving of this tremendous success. Having worked with Dolly for the past 13 years, I have never met any person that works harder than her.” Nozell added, “She is a businesswoman that understands her brand and knows exactly what to do and when to do it, and once again, she proves it with a #1 album.”

Last week, Dolly Parton made appearances on NBC’s Today and Tonight Show, among other TV shows.

Final Two Nights of 2016 Spread The Love Tour at Gillette Stadium New Milestone

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (Aug. 28, 2016) – “The ups, the downs, the road, the shows – have been leading to… this moment,” Kenny Chesney told the crowd of 61,242 partway through “Beer In Mexico,” his second night set opener at Gillette Stadium. With his six-piece band rumbling like a ’72 muscle car, the the 8-time Entertainer of the Year’s 14th and 15th sold-out shows closed his Spread the Love 2016 Tour with a vengeance.

“This night in Foxborough and the past 48 hours, I just wanna say one thing: shut the door, best night of our touring life ever! Cheers everybody,” Chesney enthused after the show.

With the city extending their curfew to accommodate the final night, Chesney played surprises and did extra songs with his guests – and, during a mash-up of the Steve Miller Band’s “The Joker” and Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” brought a young woman onstage in a cowboy hat. As the reggae classic lilted, Chesney removed her hat, revealing a bald head, then took off his own and smiling, rubbed his head against hers; then hugging her, he sang, “Every little thing’s gonna be alright…”

The crowd – who sang louder than the band in several places, throwing their hands back and forth throughout the night – erupted into massive cheers. The extended stints of cheering peaked with an almost two-minute burst of applause following “American Kids,” which prompted the songwriter/superstar to respond, “That is the loudest thing I’ve ever heard in my whole life!”

Considering last weekend’s show at East Rutherford, N.J.’s MetLife Stadium sold more than 56,000 and put him – after just five shows – in their Top 10 Stadium Draws since the ‘70s, alongside Bruce Springsteen, the Grateful Dead, the Rolling Stones, U2, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel and Elton John, Chesney’s two shows at Gillette Stadium this weekend were a whole other level of response.

Pulling “Guitars and Tiki Bars” out for the first time all tour, Chesney stopped the fan favorite after the opening line to announce to the crowd, “you know when I wrote this song, I had a beeper.” On a sweeping rendition of the Eagles’ “Take It Easy,” Old Dominion provided the signature sleek harmonies, while Miranda Lambert supplemented “You and Tequila” with a swing-leaning take on George Strait’s “The Fireman.”

As compelling as Lambert and Old Dominion were, if any “guest” stood out, it was the audience themselves. During the music-as-time-stamp “I Go Back,” the fans dug into the bridge and final chorus with so much passion that they made the song as much their own as the man whose name was on the ticket. Their vocalizing on the lurching-shuffle-meets-sea-shanty, “Pirate Flag,” was deafening.

With 14 stadium shows, Chesney’s Spread the Love Tour has seen the man The Wall Street Journal crowned “The King of the Road” find a new level of intensity this year. Over both night’s  two-hour shows, he and his band played songs from all facets of his career – from early hits like “How Forever Feels” to mid-career No. 1s “Don’t Happen Twice” and “Young,” to contemporary chart-toppers “Somewhere With You” and “Til It’s Gone.”

This is why we do this,” Chesney offered, “this right here. To play for people who love music so much, who commit so completely to what’s in these songs, who scream and shout and cheer like these fans! When you can find fans like that, you wanna do even better than you think possible… and with the No Shoes Nation, who we named right here, it really does inspire us to reach for new heights, possibilities…”

NPR Music exclusively premiered the special live performance video by Columbia Nashville’s singer/songwriter Maren Morris for the song “Once” which appears as the final track on Morris’ critically acclaimed album, HERO.  The performance of the song that NPR calls “a true showstopper” was shot in black and white and filmed at the historic RCA Studio A located on iconic Music Row in Nashville, Tenn. Comparing her vocal stylings to the legendary likes of Beyonce and Adele, NPR declares Morris is now “claiming her space among the divas.” With the performance of “Once”, NPR touts that Morris “continues to prove that she doesn’t intend to stay within one musical zone – except that one labeled ‘excellence.’”

Watch Morris’ live performance of “Once” on NPR

The song “Once” is the final track that makes up HERO, but is not a current radio single, which makes for an interesting choice for a music video. The reason Morris decided to create a special performance video for the song spawned from when she opened for Chris Stapleton this past February at the Ryman Auditorium. At the time she hit the iconic “Mother Church” stage, her album HERO was well in the distance from release thus her ever growing fan base had not quite heard “Once” yet.

This specific evening was a special treat for both fans and Morris herself, for when she began belting the chorus “Know that if somehow we make it alive / And both get out on the other side / Know this might be asking a lot / When it’s all said and done / Don’t forget that you loved me once” backed only by two side guitar players and two back ground vocalists, Morris’ incomparable voice soared, and the room was electric.

Maren decided to create another special performance, acknowledging that the first one would never be copied, for her fans to enjoy. Instead of taking away from the special night at the Ryman Auditorium months ago, Morris chose the historic RCA Studio A to set the scene for “Once.”

Morris now becoming no stranger to special and monumental moments, as recently announce she has teamed up with GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter and producer Alicia Keys for the next installment of CMT Cross Roads, to air Friday, December 2nd at 10pm ET/PT.

EPISODE TO AIR IN DECEMBER

Grammy® Award-winning singer/songwriter and producer Alicia Keys will make her CMT debut with a new episodes of “CMT Crossroads” with newcomer Maren Morris, the Nashville singer/songwriter who has taken the country world by storm. Keys and Morris will tape the episode in Nashville and it will air Friday, December 2 at 10pm ET/PT.
