NASHVILLE, TENN. – Closing out a momentous year with the final weekend of her sold-out THE LUCKY TOUR, Megan Moroney charmed the packed crowd at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl Thursday night (12/7).

Revealing a backdrop of neon-lit signs in the shapes of a clover, dice and cowboy boot, Moroney kicked off her set with the rumbling “Another on the Way.” Stamping her LUCKY era by donning a  Stefanie-Naylor custom green sequin dress, she treated fans to a dynamic set, including her current chart-climbing single, “I’m Not Pretty,” “Hair Salon,” “Sleep on My Side,” “Traitor Joe,” and a stripped back acoustic moment with “Girl in the Mirror” and unreleased “No Caller ID.”

A major highlight of the night came when the “emo cowgirl” was surprised by RIAA’s Jackie Jones, Columbia’s Julian Swirsky, and Sony Music Nashville’s Taylor Lindsey with a plaque celebrating her first 2X PLATINUM song – “Tennessee Orange.” Adding to the milestone moment, Moroney was also named one of the RIAA Class of 2023 for receiving her first certified song this year and is one of only two artists in the program across all-genres to receive double PLATINUM. In this Class of 2023, Moroney has the highest solo certification in the Country genre with this record-breaking single.

Cementing her in-demand headliner status, the venue erupted as she went into “Tennessee Orange.” Taking it all in, Moroney shared “Y’all have completely changed my life the last year and I am not oblivious to the fact that y’all are the sole reason that I get to do this with my life, and I can’t thank you guys enough. I grew up thinking I was going to be an accountant, but because you guys care, I get to do this instead. So literally from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much!”

Sealing the night with a massive sing-along to the chorus of “Tennessee Orange,” Moroney brought it full circle with her title track “Lucky.”

A press darling, Moroney’s songs and debut album LUCKY (Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records) have graced several sought-after ‘Best Of’ lists:

Los Angeles Times “The 100 best songs of 2023” – #3 “Tennessee Orange”

“such a perfect lyrical conceit about young love and college football that it’s hard to believe it wasn’t already a country standard.”

New York Times “Best Albums of 2023

“don’t let the inherent perkiness in the country singer Megan Moroney’s voice fool you – she’s an acute conveyor of what it feels like to hold it together while your insides shatter. This debut album has plenty of moving heartbreak songs, but also a few that detail how the person most likely to let you down is … you.”

Rolling Stone The 100 Best Album of 2023”

“The exciting mainstream country debut of 2023 belonged to the Georgia-raised Megan Moroney, whose Gen Z iteration of three chords and the truth…”

Associated Press “Top albums of 2023

“…it’s the whole of ‘Lucky’ — and Moroney’s position as a Gen Z songwriter with Taylor Swift-level acuity — that makes her one to watch.”

Looking ahead, she’ll join Kenny Chesney on his SUN DOWN 2024 TOUR throughout next year. For full tour dates and ticketing information, visit meganmoroney.com.

ANDREW JANNAKOS REFLECTS ON HOW FATHERHOOD HAS INSPIRED GROWTH IN HIM IN NEW SONG, “CHANGING ME”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Singer-songwriter Andrew Jannakos debuted a new track today, “Changing Me.” The song, written by Jannakos along with Dave Cohen, Ray Fulcher, and Lee Thomas Miller, shines a light on the ways in which being a father has inspired growth in Jannakos. Listen to “Changing Me” HERE.

“‘Changing Me’ isn’t only a song for my son. It’s a song that shows that parents grow just as much as their little ones,” Jannakos said. “We watch them grow every day, week, month. But we never sit back and see the change that they made in our lives as parents and people. They make us better.”

The cover art for the track (above) was a drawing made by his wife’s son, Brenson, who Jannakos adopted two years ago. Jannakos is celebrating the two-year anniversary of Brenson’s adoption with his new song “Changing Me,” which details the incredible bond the father and son have. Read more about his son’s adoption story in a previous interview with E! News HERE.

Earlier this year, Jannakos released his new song “Meet My Maker,” which MusicRow praised as a “wafting, lovely, pastoral ode.” Additionally, his recent release “Gettin’ There” was considered a “New Country Song You Need To Hear Right Now” by Country Now. The Nash News lauded his voice on the track, calling it “as smooth as can be.”

Jannakos has upcoming performances at Tin Roof Detroit and Tin Roof Indianapolis. For additional info, visit AndrewJannakos.com.

About Andrew Jannakos:

Andrew Jannakos’s hit song “Gone Too Soon” in 2020 was not only a massive success, but it also served as the catalyst for massive change to come in the rising star’s life, including a move to Nashville from his hometown in Georgia, signing a record deal with Sony Music Nashville/RCA Nashville, and racking up millions of streams weekly. In the years following, Andrew began plotting his next batch of music. He moved his family to a big piece of land 50 minutes outside of the city, with plenty of space for introspection to prioritize what he wanted to say with these new songs. In the process, he found himself spending majority of his time outdoors. When the singer wasn’t perched in a deer stand, he would take his kayak down to the nearby creek and fish, and sometimes bring his son to the shore to look for crawdads – something he did when he was growing up. In the stillness he was filled creatively and rediscovered what inspires him the most…his family, nature, God, and spending time with all three. Andrew was brought back to his core and began to pen songs that are reflective of that. The result is a new batch of music he’s set to release in 2023 that’s a compilation of stories that make Andrew who he is.

HEADLINE THE LUCKY TOUR SOLD-OUT

NASHVILLE, TENN. (May 16, 2023) – Yesterday (5/15), Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records rising star Megan Moroney performed her newly certified PLATINUM single “Tennessee Orange” on NBC’s TODAY with Hoda & Jenna. Straight off her just-released debut album LUCKY, Moroney showcased her gorgeously gritty vocal style for the first time on morning television. Watch her perform the catchy slow-burner, verging on Top 5 at Country radio here.

Upon the release of LUCKY on May 5 – a timeless collision of Country, Folk, and Southern Rock – the debut LP immediately catapulted to Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart while Moroney also reigns No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart this week, becoming the fifth solo Country female artist to hit No. 1 in the chart’s history. The album takes a daringly honest look at all the major wins and losses of her life at age 25 featuring the Georgia-bred singer-songwriter-guitarist’s self-proclaimed most vulnerable song she’s written to date, “Girl in the Mirror,” “Traitor Joe,” a track merging Country with Pop-punk as Moroney sounds off on the two-timing girlfriend of the guy she’s got her eye on, as well as the hellraising honky-tonk title-track that lets her more freewheeling side shine. Go here to stream/download LUCKY now.

With early reviews already in, Moroney is stacking up critical acclaim. Billboard praises “Georgia native Megan Moroney’s voice possesses an earthy rasp that grounds her vulnerable songwriting in a sense of hard-earned reality — it’s part of the reason why she’s become one of country music’s breakout stars of this year.” People lauds “Lucky promises 13 tracks all with the potential to be hits in their own right,” and American Songwriter applauds “‘Lucky is a well-balanced album with just enough somber notes to hold your hand on your worst days and enough anthems to pull right out of them.” With high profile features in ParadeNashville LifestylesHoller and more, Moroney also sat down with Entertainment Tonight for an exclusive inside look at her headline tour stop in Nashville, TN. Watch here.

Moroney recently wrapped her SOLD-OUT PISTOL MADE OF ROSES TOUR — her first headline run named for her debut EP (a 2022 release that prompted CMT to praise her as a “musical risktaker with powerhouse pipes”). After opening for Country music icons Brooks & Dunn this summer, she’ll kick off THE LUCKY TOUR with her New York City debut at The Bowery Ballroom on September 20. The 22-city SOLD-OUT trek will stop at major cities and iconic venues coast-to-coast, including her first-time appearance as an in-demand headliner in Chicago (Joe’s on Weed St.), Los Angeles (The Troubadour), New Braunfels, TX (Gruene Hall), and more. MEGAN MORONEY’S DEBUT ALBUM LUCKY OUT NOW

BREAKOUT COUNTRY STAR’S FIRST FULL-LENGTH FEATURES

PLATINUM-CERTIFIED SMASH “TENNESSEE ORANGE”

GEORGIA-BRED SINGER-SONGWRITER-guitarist

TO PERFORM ON NBC’S TODAY ON 5/15

NASHVILLE, TENN. (May 5, 2023) — Today, Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records rising star Megan Moroney strikes gold with the release of her massively anticipated debut album, LUCKY. A daringly honest look at all the major wins and losses of her life at age 25, LUCKYfeatures the Georgia-bred singer-songwriter-guitarist’s breakout hit “Tennessee Orange” — a newly-Platinum-certified viral smash that’s cracked the top 10 on Country radio and surpassed a staggering 196 million streams to date. Go here to stream/download LUCKY now.

Arriving as Moroney gears up for her debut performance on NBC’s TODAY on May 15th, LUCKY showcases the stunning songcraft and gorgeously gritty vocal work that have received an avalanche of acclaim over the past year — including, most recently, a nomination for NEW FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR at the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards. With a one-of-a-kind songwriting voice spotlighting her disarmingly down-to-earth personality, the Nashville-based artist delivers 13 vividly detailed and wildly dazzling tracks that speak out on everything from toxic relationships to romantic confusion to the thrill of making possibly bad decisions on a rowdy night out. “All these songs came from me writing about my life; I don’t ever put on a persona or try to be something I’m not,” Moroney points out. “I’m just a 25-year-old girl from Georgia who happens to be very in touch with her feelings, and knows how to turn them into songs.”

Rooted in a timeless but fantastically unpredictable sound that Moroney compares to “a vintage car that can fly,” LUCKY has already earned abundant raves from critics. Billboard lauds LUCKY “showcases the substantive musicality and intuitive songwriter beneath Moroney’s aesthetic as a fashionable, bubbly blonde with a hit song and vocals featuring an intriguing blend of honeyed and raspy,” and Holler states “Delivering her signature brand of conversational adeptness and clever turns of phrase rolled in 13 visceral tracks, the album is a perfect combination of Kacey Musgraves’ Same Trailer Different Park and the simple bad-assery found in much of Miranda Lambert’s vast discography.”

Produced by Kristian Bush (the multi-award-winning artist/songwriter/producer and member of famed duo Sugarland), LUCKY includes four previously released singles revealing the extraordinary scope of Moroney’s artistry. Along with “Tennessee Orange” — recently the #1 weekly streamed song by a solo female Country artist — those tracks include follow-up hit “I’m Not Pretty” (a February release hailed by MusicRow as a “clever, femme-centric ditty [that] confirms her status as a first-class, off-center, wonderfully creative Country artist”), LUCKY’s two-stepping title track (a March single that “feels a little bit Shania and full-on honkytonk, in a manner that would have sounded right at home on ‘90s country radio,” according to Billboard), and the gut-punching “Girl in the Mirror” (a soul-baring ballad that premiered last month, with Country Now noting that the song “further illustrates Moroney’s knack for storytelling as she details the deeply personal realization that she’s lost herself amid a rocky relationship”). See below for LUCKY’s full track list.

Track List to LUCKY by Megan Moroney:

1. “I’m Not Pretty”

2. “Lucky”

3. “Tennessee Orange”

4. “Kansas Anymore”

5. “Girl in the Mirror”

6. “Another on the Way”

7. “Traitor Joe”

8. “Why Johnny”

9. “God Plays A Gibson”

Tonight in Oklahoma City, Moroney continues her PISTOL MADE OF ROSES TOUR — a SOLD-OUT headlining run named for her debut EP (a 2022 release that prompted CMT to praise her as a “musical risktaker with powerhouse pipes”). After opening for Country music icons Brooks & Dunn this summer, she’ll kick off THE LUCKY TOUR with her New York City debut at The Bowery Ballroom on September 20. With many of the venues selling out within minutes, the 22-city trek will stop at major cities and iconic venues coast-to-coast, including her first-time appearance as an in-demand headliner in Chicago (Joe’s on Weed St.), Los Angeles (The Troubadour), New Braunfels, TX (Gruene Hall), and more. MEGAN MORONEY DROPS LONG-AWAITED “TENNESSEE ORANGE” MUSIC VIDEO

NAMED A 2023 ARTIST TO WATCH BY AMAZON, PANDORA & OTHERS

Breakout Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records artist Megan Moroney dropped the music video for her viral hit, “Tennessee Orange,” today. Watch here.

Directed by Jason Lester, the video was shot at various locations around Nashville. Moroney, a Georgia grad, appears wearing the rival orange of the Tennessee Volunteers with a mystery man, who is presumably a Vols fan.

“I had so much fun making this video with Jason Lester!” Moroney said. “I think we could have taken this video in a few different directions, and I was so excited to film it from ‘his’ point of view. This song is about more than a football team and I think we captured the love story perfectly.”

“Tennessee Orange” was recently the #1 weekly streamed song by a solo female artist and has amassed over 92 million total global on-demand streams to date. The song arrived last summer, following Moroney’s debut EP, Pistol Made Of Roses. CMT noted that “the six-song collection served as an introduction and shared who Moroney is at her very core – a musical risktaker with powerhouse pipes.”

Following an explosive 2022 led by the success of “Tennessee Orange,” Moroney was dubbed as a “2023 Artist to Watch” by Amazon, Pandora, Country Now, among others. Additionally, she was crowned the “2022 New Artist of the Year” by Country Central and named one of SiriusXM’s “2023 Future Five.” Holler predicted that her “smooth, honeyed voice that combines with a casual, conversational charm [will] make her one to watch in 2023.”

Moroney recently toured alongside artists such as Larry Fleet, Jamey Johnson, and Warren Zeiders, and is now set to launch her headlining PISTOL MADE OF ROSES tour this spring. For dates and additional info, visit meganmoroney.com.
